In categories where buying decisions are driven by trust — law, wealth management, medical, insurance — prospects increasingly start their research inside an AI assistant. They type "best estate planning attorney in Westchester," "fee-only wealth advisor for a $10M liquidity event," or "top orthopedic surgeon near me," and the AI returns a short list. That list is not a ranked page of blue links. It is a synthesized answer with two to seven sources cited.
If your firm is not in that answer, the prospect often never visits your website. The traditional SEO funnel — impression, click, session, conversion — collapses. Visibility inside the AI answer is the impression.
The measurement problem most agencies ignore
LLM outputs are non-deterministic. The same prompt run three times can produce three materially different answers — different sources cited, different firms recommended, different framings of the category. A two- or three-run sample is not measurement. It's an anecdote.
Our standard is at least ten runs per diagnostic prompt, per platform. For a typical engagement covering five core prompts across five platforms, that's 250 measured responses at baseline — enough to produce a real distribution of how often your firm is cited, how often competitors are cited instead, and which third-party sources the AI actually draws from when constructing its answer.

Multi-platform, multi-run measurement

Gap analysis and citation-source mapping

SEO optimizes for Google's ranked results page. GEO optimizes for AI-generated answers that cite only two to seven sources and have no second page. SEO signals like backlinks still matter, but GEO weights third-party citations, verifiable credentials, structured content patterns, and entity recognition more heavily. For professional services, it's closer to brand-reputation management than to keyword optimization.
Why do you run each prompt at least ten times?
